Consio is a well-reviewed AI phone platform for Shopify. If you run an Indian D2C brand, you have probably come across it while looking for a way to call customers automatically. The question this page answers is narrower: if most of your orders are cash on delivery and your customers speak Hindi, Hinglish or a regional language, which tool fits best?
We make Callfox, so we're one of the options below. We've tried to be fair: every claim about another product links to that vendor's own public website or Shopify App Store listing, and we say where each alternative is the better choice. Where a vendor doesn't publish something, we say so rather than guess.
Pricing and features below were checked against each vendor's public pages on 10 October 2026. Vendors change plans often, so check their sites for current pricing before you decide.
Who this is for
This page is for Shopify brands selling in India that:
- take a large share of orders as cash on delivery and lose money to RTO (return to origin);
- want customers called before the order ships, to confirm it or cancel it;
- need those calls in the language the customer actually speaks, not only English;
- would rather pay in rupees than in dollars.
If you run a US store and want an inbound AI receptionist, a power dialer and SMS campaigns in one inbox, Consio is built for exactly that, and you probably don't need an alternative.

Consio: the benchmark
Consio's Shopify listing describes it as turning "phone calls into ecom revenue" with an AI voice agent, AI IVR, AI SMS and phone call campaigns. Its site lists an inbound AI voice agent that answers 24/7, an outbound power dialer for abandoned checkouts and VIP segments, escalation to human agents, a unified inbox and revenue attribution. It integrates with Klaviyo, Gorgias, Zendesk, Kustomer and Richpanel, and holds a 5.0 rating from 42 reviews on the App Store.
On pricing, the listing shows plans of $30, $60 and $120 a month (100, 400 and 1,000 minutes) with extra minutes at $0.10. Consio's pricing page separately lists AI voice agent minutes at $0.30.
- Much broader feature set: inbound, outbound, SMS and helpdesk in one place
- Established, with public reviews
- Deep ties to US ecommerce tools like Klaviyo and Gorgias
- Priced in US dollars
- No Hindi or Indian-language support published
- No COD confirmation or RTO workflow described

Callfox
Callfox does one job. When a cash-on-delivery order comes in, an AI voice agent calls the customer in Hindi, Hinglish, English or a regional language and asks them to confirm it. The result goes back to Shopify as an order tag: callfox:pending becomes callfox:confirmed or callfox:cancelled, so your team ships the confirmed orders and drops the cancelled ones.
Pricing is in rupees and there's no monthly fee. Every new store gets 30 free minutes; after that you buy prepaid minutes, 699 for ₹4,799 or 2,499 for ₹15,999, billed per started minute through Shopify. A typical confirmation call takes about 30 seconds, so it uses one minute, and unanswered calls are free.
- Built for Indian COD confirmation, in Hindi, Hinglish and English
- INR pricing, no monthly fee, and 30 free minutes
- Outcomes land in Shopify as tags you can filter on
- COD confirmation only: no inbound, NDR or abandoned-checkout calls
- Not listed on the Shopify App Store; you connect from app.callfox.in
- WooCommerce is coming soon (an API is available today)
Scalysis
Scalysis is a Shopify app built for Indian D2C. Its listing describes prebuilt agents for COD, NDR, abandoned cart, reorder, feedback and inbound calls, Indian phone numbers provisioned on install, editable scripts, and multiple Indian languages with automatic mid-call switching. Plans run from a free starter credit to $79, $199 and $499 a month, with per-minute rates listed from ₹3.3 down to ₹2.375. The developer is based in Gurugram.
- Covers more call types than COD confirmation alone
- Installs straight from the Shopify App Store
- Free credit to test before paying
- Plans are billed in USD, with per-minute rates quoted in rupees
- Launched on the App Store in August 2026, with no public reviews yet

Caller Digital
Caller Digital offers an AI voice bot for COD verification. Its page says it calls within five minutes of a COD order, validates the address, flags suspected fake orders, falls back to WhatsApp and SMS, and switches language mid-call. It lists 14 languages, including Hindi, Hinglish, Tamil, Telugu, Marathi, Bengali, Kannada, Gujarati, Malayalam, Punjabi, Odia and Assamese. It says it integrates with Shopify, WooCommerce and Magento, and publishes outcome-based pricing of ₹8–25 per verified order.
- The widest published list of Indian languages here
- WooCommerce and Magento support today
- You pay per verified order rather than per minute
- The price per order depends on volume tier and order value, so ask for a quote
- We couldn't find a public Shopify App Store listing to check reviews against

SoniQA
SoniQA solves a different problem in the same funnel. Its Shopify listing describes AI voice calls that "rescue failed COD deliveries before RTO": when a delivery attempt fails, it calls the customer in Hindi, English or Tamil to reschedule, correct the address, switch to prepaid or confirm a cancellation, and escalates to your team what it can't resolve. It's listed as free, and the developer is based in Ahmedabad.
- Built for the post-dispatch failed-delivery stage
- Free on the Shopify listing, consent and DND handling built in
- It works after an order ships, not before, so it complements pre-dispatch confirmation rather than replacing it
- Three languages listed; launched in July 2026 with no public reviews yet

WhatsApp confirmation
Many Indian brands send a WhatsApp message to confirm each COD order, and plenty of Shopify apps and WhatsApp providers offer it. Meta bills the WhatsApp Business Platform per delivered template message, and utility templates sent inside an open customer-service window are free. Your provider usually adds a platform fee.
- Cheaper per contact than a phone call
- Customers can reply whenever they like, and you keep a written record
- Easy to send to every COD order
- Customers who don't reply stay unconfirmed
- Harder to handle questions, address fixes or hesitation in text
WhatsApp and calls aren't mutually exclusive. A common setup is WhatsApp first, then a call for orders still unconfirmed. We compared the two in AI phone calls vs WhatsApp for Indian ecommerce.

IVR confirmation
An IVR call plays a recorded message ("press 1 to confirm, press 2 to cancel"). It's widely available from Indian telecom and cloud-calling providers, and simple to run.
- Simple, predictable and usually inexpensive
- Easy to record in several languages
- Can't answer questions or handle "I didn't order this" or "deliver it next week"
- Customers often hang up before pressing anything
An in-house calling team
Plenty of brands start by having two or three people call every COD order. A person can read hesitation, handle odd cases and build rapport, and at low volume that's hard to beat.
- The most flexible handling of unusual conversations
- Worth it for very high-value orders
- Cost grows with headcount, and coverage drops at night, on weekends and during sale spikes
- Results vary from caller to caller
We put numbers on this trade-off in AI vs human teams for COD confirmation.
How to choose
- You sell mainly in the US and want a full phone stack: Consio.
- You want Indian COD orders confirmed before they ship, in Hindi, Hinglish and regional languages, priced in rupees: Callfox.
- You want COD, NDR, abandoned-cart and inbound calls from one App Store app: Scalysis.
- You want to pay per verified order, or you're on WooCommerce or Magento today: Caller Digital.
- Your main pain is failed deliveries after dispatch: SoniQA, possibly alongside a pre-dispatch confirmation tool.
- You're watching every rupee: start with WhatsApp, and call only the orders that don't reply.
- You handle a few dozen COD orders a day: one person on the phone may be enough for now.
Whatever you pick, test it on your own orders. Run it for two weeks on a slice of COD volume, then compare the RTO rate of confirmed orders against your baseline. For the full setup on Shopify, see how to reduce RTO on Shopify India.
FAQ
Can Indian Shopify brands use Consio?
Nothing on Consio's Shopify listing restricts it to the US, so you can install it. The question is fit. As of October 2026 the listing gives the developer as Consio AI Inc. in Dover, Delaware, prices plans in US dollars, and lists English as the app's language. Consio's public pages do not mention Hindi, Indian languages or cash-on-delivery confirmation.
What is the best COD confirmation call app for Shopify in India?
It depends on the job. If you only need COD orders confirmed in Hindi, Hinglish and regional languages with the result written back to Shopify, a focused tool such as Callfox fits. If you want one app for COD, NDR, abandoned carts and inbound calls, Scalysis lists all of those. If you prefer to pay per verified order, Caller Digital publishes outcome-based pricing. Run a pilot on your own orders before you decide.
How much does an AI COD confirmation call cost in India?
Pricing models differ. Callfox is free to install with 30 free minutes, then prepaid minutes at ₹6.40–6.87 per started minute with no monthly fee, so a typical 30-second confirmation uses one minute. Scalysis lists plans from $79/month with per-minute rates starting at ₹3.3. Caller Digital publishes ₹8–25 per verified order. These figures were checked in October 2026; check each vendor's site for current pricing.
Is WhatsApp confirmation enough instead of calls?
For many brands WhatsApp is the cheaper first step, because Meta bills per delivered template message. Its weakness is customers who never reply. A common setup is WhatsApp first, then a phone call for orders that are still unconfirmed.
Does Callfox do everything Consio does?
No. Consio covers inbound AI calls, an outbound power dialer, SMS, abandoned-checkout campaigns and helpdesk integrations for US stores. Callfox does one job: it calls Indian cash-on-delivery customers to confirm orders before you ship and tags the outcome in Shopify.
Does Callfox work with WooCommerce?
WooCommerce support is coming soon. Today Callfox connects to Shopify from app.callfox.in, and there is an API for other stacks.
Try it on your own COD orders.
Callfox calls your COD customers in Hindi, Hinglish and English, confirms the order, and tags the result in Shopify. 30 free minutes to start.
