If you ship with Shiprocket, you have probably switched on Shiprocket Engage to confirm cash-on-delivery orders on WhatsApp. For a lot of orders that works. This page is about the ones it doesn't reach, and how to add a phone call for those without changing how you ship.
We make Callfox, so we're not neutral. We've tried to be fair: every claim about Shiprocket Engage comes from Shiprocket's own Engage page or its Shopify App Store listing, and we say where Engage is the better fit.
Features and pricing below were checked against Shiprocket's public pages on 25 October 2026. Vendors change plans often, so check their sites before you decide.
The short answer
You don't have to replace anything. Keep Shiprocket for shipping, and keep Engage for WhatsApp if it's working for you. Add a voice call on top for COD orders that stay unconfirmed, or that need a real conversation. That's the gap Callfox fills.
What Shiprocket Engage does well
Shiprocket's Shopify listing describes Engage as a "buyer communication suite that reduces RTOs using automated WhatsApp messaging prior to shipping." It lists:
- automated order confirmation;
- automated address verification and updating;
- COD-to-prepaid conversion (C2P);
- coupon creation and abandoned-cart reminders.
Shiprocket's Engage page adds WhatsApp, email and SMS campaigns, Instagram DM automation and WhatsApp support. On price, the listing says Engage is free to install and charges ₹2.49 per order for order confirmation, address verification, C2P and abandoned-cart reminders, billed in USD.
- Low cost per order, and already inside your Shiprocket account
- Covers more than confirmation: C2P, coupons, cart reminders, marketing campaigns
- A message is fine for customers who reply quickly
- Only works if the customer reads and replies
- No voice calls listed for Engage on the pages we checked
- A button tap is not the same as a spoken yes

Where WhatsApp-only confirmation breaks
These are the COD orders that slip through a message, and the reason we built Callfox around a phone call:
- No reply. The message is delivered and read (or not), and nobody answers. The order sits unconfirmed until you decide to ship it anyway.
- A tap isn't intent. Tapping "Confirm" takes a second and costs nothing. Talking to someone about the order is a stronger signal that they'll accept it at the door.
- Shared family phones. In many homes the phone on the order isn't the buyer's own. A call reaches whoever answers and can ask for the right person.
- Address problems. A missing landmark or a wrong sector number is easier to fix in a short conversation, where the agent reads the new address back and the customer confirms it.
- "I never placed this order." Fake and prank COD orders are common. On a call the customer says so, and the order is filed as cancelled before it ships.
None of this makes WhatsApp useless. It's why many brands send a message first and call the orders that are still unconfirmed. Our WhatsApp vs phone call comparison goes into this in more detail.

How Callfox works alongside Shiprocket
Nothing about your shipping changes. When a cash-on-delivery order comes into Shopify, Callfox calls the customer in Hindi, Hinglish or English and asks them to confirm it. The answer goes back to Shopify as an order tag: callfox:confirmed or callfox:cancelled. Your team creates Shiprocket shipments for confirmed orders as usual and drops the cancelled ones.
If the customer asks to change the address or name, the agent reads the new details back to them, notes them on the order, and holds it for your team to update before it ships. If they say they never ordered it, it's filed as cancelled.
After dispatch, brands that connect their Shiprocket account can also have Callfox call customers when a delivery fails, to find out whether they still want it and pass the details back for the reattempt.
A common setup: Engage's WhatsApp confirmation goes out first, and Callfox calls the COD orders that are still unconfirmed after a few hours. You pay for a call only on the orders that need one.
What it costs
Callfox is free to install, and every new store gets 30 free minutes. After that you buy prepaid minutes at ₹6.40–6.87 per started minute, with no monthly fee. A confirmation call usually takes under a minute, and unanswered calls are free. When Engage alone is enough
If most of your COD customers reply on WhatsApp, your RTO is already low, and you mainly want cheap confirmations plus COD-to-prepaid nudges, Engage on its own may be all you need. Add a call when unconfirmed or refused COD orders are still costing you money.

Can I use Callfox and Shiprocket together?
Yes. Shiprocket keeps doing your shipping. Callfox calls cash-on-delivery customers before dispatch and tags the order in Shopify as callfox:confirmed or callfox:cancelled, so your team ships only confirmed orders. Brands that connect their Shiprocket account can also have Callfox call customers after a failed delivery.
Is a phone call better than WhatsApp for COD confirmation?
Not always. WhatsApp is cheap and works well for customers who reply. A call helps where messages don't: customers who never reply, a tap on a button that doesn't mean real intent, a shared family phone, an address that needs correcting, or a customer who says they never placed the order. Many brands use WhatsApp first and a call for orders still unconfirmed.
